Be a child’s Santa this holiday!Lauren Henry | November 15, 2019 | 0 | Food & Drink
It is the most wonderful time of the year! Most Americans look forward to the holidays as it is the perfect timing for merrymaking. From the holiday food, fun parties, and jingles, there is a certain holiday spirit everyone enjoys. But the season most especially belongs to the kids as during the holidays, nothing seems merrier than making kids the happiest especially those who live in charities for children.
Gift-giving in America
The United States remains to be one of the most charitable countries in the world. During holidays, it has been reported that many affluent American individuals and families see it as an opportunity to give back especially to those who belong to low-income families and those who are considered homeless and poor.
The problem, however, is that some of these generous people are having difficulties as to how charitable works are done. There seem to be complex processes in giving donations and others are doubtful of how authentic and relevant the causes of these organizations are. The fact that several problems still flourish in every state may lead one to worry that their generous effort might be put to waste.
Red Flags in Charities
In general, people find two major problems in terms of dealing with charities:
- Manpower concerns. It has been reported that other organizations are inept in performing optimal work considering the hectic holiday season due to the lack of the appropriate number of manpower to do the legwork in doing tedious workload. As a result, some of these charitable efforts do not reach their beneficiaries right on time.
- Prioritization concerns. Another concern is the lack of prioritizations in enlisting relevant programs and projects. As an effect, many do-gooders get discouraged as they may not see their charitable effort in good use or perhaps, not given in problems they deem important.
Prioritizing child hunger
One of the most urgent and pressing issues in the US is food insecurity. In 2019 alone, more than 10 million children remain hungry or are still being fed with unhealthy food which results in documented cases of malnutrition. Good thing charities for children are constantly working to address the aforesaid concern.
This is done by creating effective mechanisms to secure the children’s welfare by creating programs to feed children especially those who experience child hunger.
The main agenda of this program is to ensure that these children may be given food. Donations given to these charities for children are systematically utilized to sustain the basic needs of these kids not only during the holiday season but for the longer-term. It is through this that the staggering increase in reported cases of child hunger in the last decade can be given a pause, mitigated or totally eradicated in the long run.
